Football Betting Guide
This football betting guide explains the basic markets used by Correct-Score.net readers: match result, correct score, both teams to score, over/under goals and accumulators. It is designed to support responsible, informed reading rather than encourage risky staking.
Decimal odds
Decimal odds show the total return per unit staked. A £10 stake at 3.50 returns £35 if the bet wins, including the original stake. The implied probability is calculated as 100 divided by the decimal odds.
Correct score betting
Correct score markets require the exact final score. A 2-1 prediction only wins if the match ends exactly 2-1 after the relevant market period. These markets typically offer higher odds because they are harder to land than simple match-result markets.
Accumulators
An accumulator combines multiple selections into one bet. Every leg must win for the acca to return. Correct score accumulators can produce very high headline odds, but the true risk is also very high.
Bankroll discipline
- Set a fixed betting budget before the day starts.
- Do not chase losses.
- Keep stakes small, especially on high-variance score markets.
- Use deposit limits, reality checks and time-outs where available.
